Day 81. Tom Price to Nanutarra. 31/07/2015

Awoke to another sunny day with an early morning low temperature, but by the time we were ready to leave to go into town to await our Mine Tour, the temperature was climbing steadily. I was not feeling well and unfortunately by 12 o’clock could not participate in the tour. I wanted John to go on his own but he would not leave me, so we decided to leave Tom Price and start our journey to Nanutarra earlier than we had intended.
We set the Navman (should have checked a road map) and unfortunately we were directed to a road where we had to drive about 60 kms on an unmade, badly corrugated red dust goat track. Some parts were better than others, and at one stage we stopped to check the inside of the caravan to make sure everything was okay.  All was well so we continued until we finally made it to the bitumen road ……Hallelujah ! (Don’t always trust the little lady in the Navman unit)
The remaining 180 kms was a breeze and the scenery through the Hammersley Ranges made the whole journey worthwhile. We arrived at Nanutarra Roadhouse about 4 p.m. and had a pre-booked site waiting for us which was good as there were already a number campers set up in a small but pleasant area. When you come across a Roadhouse in the middle of nowhere it is usually quite crowded and there is always plenty of road trains stopping at the facilities.
Calinda is filthy! Inside she is quite pure but her exterior is grotty to say the least.  Boy, is she going to need a scrubbing when we get home.
Early night as John is quite tired and needs a good sleep.
Sunset at Nanutarra.
Our drive through site made departure very easy.
